Looking back on the 2021 season
In the vineyard of Champagne

April: spring frost destroys 3 ha of vines
on 9.7.
May: the vine is weakened but slowly restarts. Unfortunately, the insects devour the few surviving buds.
June: The vine suffers its first attack from Mildew.
July - August: it keeps raining! The attacks of Mildew follow one another. The use of organic plant protection products shows their limits.
The grapes are under attack!
Helpless, we see the grapes disappear every day. The rain keeps falling and we can’t even get into the plots with the straddling tractors. Finally, it is 3 days of good weather that will bring a hail storm on the villages of Damery and Venteuil, which ravages 1 ha of our most beautiful plots.
September: the harvest will be marked by the sad historical record of the most catastrophic harvests in Champagne and in many vineyards in France.
