The return of the bees: a new honey harvest at the heart of our farm

Les abeilles ont retrouvé leur place dans les ruches de l’exploitation.

For several years, beehives have been installed in the heart of our farm, in the orchard of Maison Champagne Yannick Prévoteau, in Damery.

Surrounded by the vegetable garden, fruit trees and numerous flowerbeds cultivated with passion by Yannick, they naturally fit into an environment designed as a refuge for insects and biodiversity.

Two difficult years for our beehives

Over the past two years, our beehives have unfortunately been severely affected by Asian hornets. The bee colonies have been decimated and no honey harvest has been possible.

Despite this situation, Yannick never gave up .

He continued to take care of the hives, to observe their development and to encourage the return of colonies strong enough to be able to establish themselves permanently on the farm again.

A harvest made possible by patience

After many months of care and attention, this perseverance was finally rewarded.

Last Friday, Yannick had the pleasure of harvesting the honey produced in the farm's hives once again. A lovely harvest, particularly precious after a two-year hiatus.

Beyond the pleasure of rediscovering this honey, this harvest primarily marks the return of bees to our environment. It testifies to their ability to reclaim their place when the conditions necessary for their development are patiently preserved.

From the vine to the beehive, the same respect for living things

The presence of bees is inseparable from the richness of our environment. Thanks to their pollination work, they contribute to the reproduction of flowers, fruit trees and many plants.

Their return is therefore a real source of satisfaction for our House. It reflects our approach to the winemaking profession: observing nature, following its cycles and intervening carefully, respecting its balance.

This new honey harvest is a small victory, the result of much care, patience, and perseverance. We are happy to share these images with you and to share this beautiful moment in the life of our farm.
